Now it's the job.

Computers were never just a hobby, they were always the thing I came back to, even when my career went in other directions. Those directions included running a music store, customer service, operations, and a stretch doing technical consulting where I sat between software developers and the clients they were building for.

On those projects I tested software from the client's side, ran the consultations, and made sure what got built was what the business actually needed. It taught me something more useful than any framework: things go sideways fast when communication breaks down. I learned to translate between the technical and the human, and that skill matters a lot more than most people realize when you're building something for a real business.

Eventually I decided to come back to the technical side properly. I went back to school, graduated from NSCC's IT Generalist program, picked up freelance work, and here we are. I genuinely enjoy this, which I think shows in the work.

Most work I handle myself. When a project needs more hands, like a multi-desk office setup or several sites at once, I scope it up front and bring in qualified help where it's needed. You still have one point of contact: me.
